The newest addition to my arsenal, a Canon EOS Rebel XSi, was delivered by the UPS fairy today.

Here’s a picture of some corduroy.

I got some really great photography training this summer during my fellowship with Poynter, but I thought it’d probably be a good idea to get a Rebel, which is essentially a DSLR with training wheels. Photography is probably my weakest reporting skill, and I think it’s really important for a reporter to know how to take a decent photo.
